This was my first time hearing of and actually participating in the Day of Silence. By the name you can probably tell what it is. Everyone who took part in it didn’t talk the whole day today. Why? Gay rights.
Gay, bi, or straight-I think this day is a great thing for everybody. It’s a great way to protest without having any violence. It also lets people understand what a lot of gay/bi people go through.
I was teased by friends for keeping quiet. Some tried to make me talk. Some said it was stupid. But I kept at it. I slipped up a few times but the point is I didn’t say much at all. Maybe only 5 words. But I think I did good for my first time. And I got the point across. One of my friends that teased me apologized and said she was proud of me for lasting the whole day no matter what people said to me. She told me, “It kinda shows me the real message behind it.” It made me feel really happy.
I’m looking forward to being completely silent for one day next year!
I hope you all enjoyed this day and if you didn’t know about it you’re now thinking about participating next year!
♫ “All this thinking of you Is that what you do onto You’re always on my mind I talk about you all the time… So open up your heart Help me understand Please tell me who you are So I could show you who I am You’re just standing by You’re just wasting time Why don’t you just tell me the truth about me and you And as the time goes by I hope you realize If you ask me to I just might be with you…” ♫
His roar is loud Like a lion, Prancing about Everywhere. His roar is loud Like a lion, Strutting with it; Pride. Strutting with it. Full of self admiration, He shows what he can do, He shows what he knows. It’s definitely there; Pride. He roars For the attention he has. This trickery has worked. A white flag has been raised. He didn’t need to try. I have fallen. The lion caught the lamb This time. Darn lion! His light shown, The source realized.
